One of the popular spots amongst the visitors of The Other House is the abandoned school in Izu-Okawa. Okawa is a very quiet town. You can almost say it’s “overly” tranquil”, up to a point where it might have a dinstinct “eerie-ness” of a rural Japanese town.
However once upon a time, during the booming economy in the 80’s and 90’s I guess many invested in a remote getaway from the Tokyo metropolis. There are buildings that were once believed to be hotels and and welfare facitliteis for universiteis and government workers.
If you are into Urban Exploration, or just have admiration for adandoned hotels in general, Izu Okawa may be a perfect destination for you.
